FINISHED!!!

Okay, so I'm a month late in completing the film. Does anything happen in this industry on time? Come on I've been putting in a solid 4-6 hours per week on this film. In any case, Janice is currently looking into nailing down a location for our test screening. I will post back here when we have one. It will most likely be on Saturday March 17th, so mark it on your calendars.

We finished the voice overs this last Tuesday in the sound booth of Victoria Motion Picture School. I should also take this moment to introduce the newest cast member. Thea L. Cabal answered an open call for a native Tagalog speaker - the opening and mid-point narration in the film. Much to my surprise she gave a perfect read and brought forward a beautiful tone and quality that I was not expecting. Thea and her family immigrated to Canada 4 years ago and, luckily for this production, ended up in Victoria. I had auditioned two voice talents online, but I don't think they could have come close to Thea's read. Also, our latest crew member includes Marilou 'Malou' Minorca who did all the translation for us. Malou lives in Makati and we were fortunate enough to cross paths with this talented individual while filming there

What's next? I will be picking away at the marketing and promotional material for festival submissions as well as cutting a new trailer for the web site - a trailer that includes Charlie Armour’s amazing score and some of the unforgettable images we captured in the Philippines.

Check back soon for the open test screening information. I will be contacting cast and crew to personally invite them to attend. I'm calling this a test screening because audience members will be invited to anonymously submit feedback through a form with their opinions on the film. This way, I can review the information and decide if any changes are necessary before I start to send it out. We are also trying to arrange the long anticipated wrap party for the cast and crew to immediately follow the screening. This way, out-of-towners need only come to Victoria once.

Well, that’s it for now.
