Aswang at Victoria Film Festival & more

I have had time to do my internet stalking regarding the Aswang film and have posted a few of the good, bad and ugly regarding the films debut at the Victoria Film Festival. They are at the High Banks website press section http://www.highbanks.ca/scrpress.htm All in all I am very happy with the response the film received. Although I wasn't at the screening I heard that it went very well and the audience enjoyed the film - laughing when they are supposed to laugh and jumping when they are supposed to jump. I've also received feedback that Janice's Q&A session was excellent - Thanks Janice - and a big thank you to the Victoria Film Festival for hosting the film!

A blog that I came across (that didn't make it to the High Banks Website) seemed like it was being pretty harsh on Aswang, but then ultimately gave it praise. I thought it was worth sharing. I disagree with the comparisons to The Blair Witch Project, but then again I didn't write the blog and who am I to say what others think - the film is what it is. I really appreciated the final remark "Conclusion: Mostly successful. More evidence that the horror genre evolves only on the smallest of budgets. 4/5" Here is the link: http://mentalpolyphonics.com/?cat=764

I will be screening the Aswang again as part of a fundraiser for Olotayan, an island Barangay, (districts are split into barangays in cities and municipalities in the PH), of Roxas City, Capiz, where we did a lot of the Aswang filming. I'll be posting more details regarding this soon.
